Service around the clock
Tasks and services
Munich Airport’s Terminal Services work around the clock as a service provider, ensuring that everything operates smoothly in the terminals.
Tasks and services
- Operation of Central Operations Office for T1 and T2
- Securing and maintaining operations
- Passenger flow management
- Serving airlines and passengers in the terminals and Hall F
- Alarm follow-up in the non-public areas
- Approving and providing support services for commercial photo and film shooting activities
- Other services: (e.g. support for outside companies and passengers, services for tenants and passengers, access control in Hall F, translation activities, etc.)
Passenger flow management
- Services for arriving and connecting passengers
- Guiding passengers through baggage claim areas and to departure gates
- Directing passengers arriving from non-Schengen countries to passport control
- Directing passengers arriving from non-EU countries to security screening
- Hub handling
- Opening and locking doors to ensure correct routing
Securing operations
- Monitoring of technical facilities (e.g. escalators, elevators, turnstiles, automatic doors...)
- Processing malfunctions (reporting, monitoring corrective measures)
- Keeping emergency exits, escape routes and corridors clear
- Alarm follow-up in non-accessible areas
- Unattended property: When unattended property is identified, the Terminal Services immediately inform the authorities involved in the process.
Central Operations Office
The Central Operations Office of Terminal Services for Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handle internal and external enquiries and forward them to other responsible offices as required.
They monitor all operational processes and coordinate the dispatching of the mobile employees.
Interfaces are in place to public authorities (federal police, state police, Southern Bavaria Aviation Office, the Federal Aviation Authority and the customs office), all airlines and gate agents, nearly all FMG departments, the Terminal 2 operating company, and most other companies represented in the Central Area.
