Awards and honors for architecture
Since going into operation in May 1992, Munich Airport has received many awards and honors from around the world in recognition of the high quality of its buildings and structures and the value they generate.
Our awards
- 1993: Honorable mention for passenger handling area of Munich Airport on the occasion of the Deutscher Architekturpreis (German Architecture Award)
- 1994: Corporate Design Award – Industrie Forum Design Hannover selects Munich Airport for overall corporate achievement in the areas of product design / services, graphic design, architecture, philosophy and ecology.
- 1995: Two Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in Chicago for Hotel Kempinski Airport München (Divine Detail Award and Distinguished Building Award)
- 2001: P6 parking garage honored by the German Automobile Club (ADAC) as "user-friendliest parking garage" and granted the ADAC Parking Garage Plaque
- 2004: Munich Airport takes first place in a comparative study by Capital magazine in the "Atmosphere" category
