MAI provides best practice solutions for the entire airport lifecycle, including bid advisory services for airport concessions, airport masterplan and design, operational readiness and airport transfer (ORAT), efficient and sustainable airport operations, optimization of aviation and non-aviation revenues, tailor-made training programs, as well as comprehensive airport management.

Currently we are looking for an experienced airport professional for the position “(Senior) Consultant” (m/f/d) Commercial” to join our Business Development and Service Delivery Team.

Ihre zukünftigen Aufgaben

  • Delivery of consultancy, training and management services to clients in international projects, in regard to non-aeronautical revenue streams, commercial strategy and the commercialization of airport assets.
  • Review of airport masterplans and terminal design in regards to commercial requirements and potential; development and implementation of commercial concepts, and development of business plans for non-aeronautical concession management, airline marketing and traffic development. Development of tender documents and support in tender negotiations for non-aeronautical concessionaires.
  • Support in development of concession agreements, KPIs and SLAs for concessionaires.
  • Set-up and coordination of a competency centre for development of commercial consultancy services including development of articles, conference speeches, training material, participation in exhibitions and conferences as well as development of benchmark data and reference library documentation.
  • Act as airport commercial specialist across multiple projects of technical, financial, operational, commercial as well as technological nature

Das bringen Sie mit

  • University degree in business, real estate, aviation management or similar
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in non-aeronautical concession management at airports and profound knowledge of airport processes from a commercial point of view. Previous experience in consulting business is of advantage
  • Profound knowledge across non-aeronautical business segments at an airport, such as but not necessarily limited to advertising, retail, food and beverage, real estate, parking, consumer activities, event management, centre management, tenancy coordination, marketing. Extended network within the airport commercial and travel retail industry
  • Demonstrable experience managing upwards, especially shareholders and complex organizational set-ups
  • Highly motivated personality with a strong get-things-done attitude and a pragmatic and positive approach
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary professional environments, with a customer oriented mindset and strong conflict-management skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively and live abroad combined with an above average mental resilience and flexibility to work under deadline pressure
  • Excellent English language skills (oral and written), other language skills are advantageous, good German language skills preferred. Very good PC skills, experience in working with MS Office Products, CRM Tools
  • Certified clean police record for airport pass application and police background check
