To make it possible to provide you with the latest news on Munich Airport, we save your contact details in our media database. 

1.  Media database for media relations

The press department of Flughafen München GmbH will use your data exclusively for its media relations activities and to maintain regular contact with you to support you in your journalistic research and reporting activities for your work as a journalist. We will notify you on a regular basis about events at Munich Airport, provide you with news, and send you related press photos and press releases or invite you to press conferences with important background information for your reporting activities. 

2. The protection of your data is important to us

We wish to assure you that we protect the data essential for media relations activities, that we use the data only for those activities, and that we do not share such data under any circumstances. Only the colleagues with the press department of Flughafen München GmbH have access to the media database. 

3. Scope, updates and deletion of data stored by us

3.1 Scope of stored data

We wish to inform you that we will store the following identification / address / contact details on you for purposes of journalistic activities:

  • last name, first name
  • name of media outlet
  • function
  • mailing address
  • email address
  • telephone number

You have published your contact data or provided them to us directly. Unless you expressly object, we assume that you still consent to the use of your personal data for the purposes indicated above.

3.2 Updating your data

In case of changes to your contact data (e.g. new address or telephone number, change in departments, departure from your organization) or if a correction is needed for other reasons, please send us a message with your updated contact data.

3.3 Deleting data

The data will be deleted when the purpose for storing them no longer applies. However, if you would like us to delete your contact data from our media database, and therefore no longer wish to receive press releases from Munich Airport, please send us a message to that effect.

4. Legal basis 

We greatly value the regular exchange of information with you and we store the necessary contact data in a media database that is indispensable for our media relations activities. We store the data in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact data are processed for the purposes of legitimate interests (Art. 6 Par. 1 sentence 1 f) ) GDPR). These interests relate in particular to the appropriate representation of Munich Airport and the relevant aviation-related topics in the media. We support you in your professional journalistic activities.

Through our media relations activities, we are also performing a task carried out in the public interest (Art. 6 Par. 1 sentence 1 e) ) GDPR). Other regulations under media laws also apply, in particular the notices of the Federal Data Protection Officer and the freedom of information for free and unimpeded journalistic research and reporting with far-reaching exceptions from the general data protection regulations and the "Press Code of Conduct" of the German Press Council. There is no legal or contractual obligation to make the data available.
