11.2.6.2 Aviation security training for airport ID card (WBT)

June 17–20, 2025: Migration of WBTs to new "Learning Experience Platform" (LXP)

Starting June 20, 2025, all Web Based Taining (WBT) courses will be available only via our new "Learning Experience Platform" (LXP). The previous Online Learning Portal will be replaced.

What you need to know now:

  • Complete WBTs by June 16, 2025
    Please complete any WBTs you have started or urgently need to complete in the Online Learning Portal by June 16, 2025, at the latest. Learning progress will not be transferred.

  • Migration period from June 17 to June 20, 2025 (midday): no WBTs possible
    Due to the technical changeover, the WBTs will not be accessible on either portal.

  • Registration on the new LXP platform required
    To use the new learning platform, you must register once in LXP. Click here for registration

    Airport Group employees with an FMG email address do not need to register; they can log in directly with "Single-Sign-On".

  • Training history & qualifications
    Your previous training data and qualifications will be transferred to LXP. Certificates will not be transferred.

  • Download certificates by August 31, 2025
    Please download all required certificates from the Online Learning Portal by August 31, 2025, at the latest. The portal will no longer be accessible after this date. Certificates can then only be obtained from the AirportAcademy for a fee.

Everything you need to know (FAQ) about the new platform

This (web based) training course is aimed at persons, other than passengers who require authorization for unaccompanied access to security restricted areas and are not covered by numbers 11.2.3. to 11.2.5. or 11.5. of EU Regulation 2015/1998.

Content

Topics and content arise from the Aviation Security Training Ordinance in conjunction with the BMI's training system.

The training includes the following topics:

  • knowledge of previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats
  • awareness of the relevant legal requirements and knowledge of elements contributing to the establishment of a robust and resilient security culture in the workplace and in the aviation domain, including, inter alia, insider threat and radicalisation
  • knowledge of the objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls
  • understanding of the configuration of the screening checkpoint and the screening process
  • awareness of access control and relevant screening procedures
  • knowledge of airport identification cards used at the airport
  • knowledge of reporting procedures
  • ability to respond appropriately to security related incidents
