After checking in your luggage, you will receive a baggage receipt. Please keep this carefully, as it serves as proof of your checked baggage.
After check-in and baggage drop-off, proceed to the security checkpoint. From there, you will directly reach your departure gate.
Allow sufficient time for your arrival, baggage check-in and the control procedures at the airport. There can always be very high passenger volumes and therefore longer waiting times at individual points. There may also be traffic delays and congestion on the roads around the airport due to construction work.
Tip: Be in the terminal early, but not before the counters open. You can find out from your airline how long before departure the counters open.

Some airlines permit passengers to check in their baggage on the evening prior to their departure from Munich. You will need your passport or official ID card and your ticket.
Please note that most airlines accept night-before check - in only for departures before noon on the following day.
